Rich colors of green and gold welcome canyon hikers to this extremely fragile desert ecosystem. This rare perpetual source of water was purposely photographed in complete shade to avoid hot spots and shadows. This necessitated a four second exposure that softens the cascading water while leaving all else sharp.
